Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As the current chairman and president of WCMISST, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the intermediate meeting of the World Congress on Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Techniques Association (WCMISST) in Paris in 2017. Paris is the perfect backdrop in which to exchange current views, expand your network and showcase new developments in Spine Surgery.

There will be debates on controversial topics, disease specific expert panels, focus groups on advances in surgical techniques and diagnostic developments by the world’s experts and glimpses into the future such as personalized and precision medicine.

I hope it will give you a chance to interact with other doctors from different countries, share your great ideas with them and broaden your knowledge on endoscopic spine procedures by various program such as cadaver and hands on workshop etc.

You will also be able to have the cutting edge knowledge and new trends of any MISS including various new endoscopic techniques.

I believe that this congress will consolidate the scientific content as well as our collaboration and solidarity as minimally invasive spine surgeons.

With best wishes,

Gun Choi, WCMISST 2016 President

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

WCMISST has been occurring every other year since 2008 and has become a high place to present, share, and discuss minimally invasive spine surgery matters. We enjoyed a huge academic and international success in Paris in June 2014 with 500+ participants from 56 countries, and the meeting was highly appreciated by the whole Spine and MISS community. The next step now happens in Jeju Island Korea thanks to the efforts of our highly estimated Colleague Dr Gun Choi, and a new page of the history of MISS is being now beautifully written.

Facing suggestions and strong demand from our peers and colleagues, the WCMISST Association board envisioned the introduction of a new “intermediate” meeting as soon as spring 2017 in Paris, making WCMISST a yearly meeting with a smaller, more practically oriented, more technology driven event occurring on uneven years. The pace of innovation suggests such an accelerated timeline.

Let’s face it: Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery IS about technology: it was built by
opiniated leaders, companies, engineers, all about modern technology and all this would not be possible without people willing to invest time and resources towards the creation of tools, techniques, and experience. MISS is technology. It may exist only by developing, sharing, presenting new techniques and new tools to a new audience willing to go forward and become mainstream.
So it is you, we are asking, to drive us to your wishes, suggest themes, orators, ideas, etc.

We want you to participate since this is a place built for you from the beginning. A simple question is: what would you like to find in there? What technique would you share or present, what kind of organization would suit you best, what is the best technology available now you would like to discuss?

We want you, and we want you now.

Dr Fréderic JACQUOT
President WCMISST Association
